We collect the following information when you use BidScout:
- Name and email address provided during signup
- Device token if provided for push notification alerts
- Location or zip code if provided for shipping estimates
- Search history and saved searches within the app
- Watchlist items and Archives content you create
- Payment information processed securely through Stripe — we never store your full card details
- Device information and usage data for improving the app
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve BidScout's features and services
- Send dispatch alerts and notifications based on your preferences
- Process subscription payments through Stripe
- Send transactional emails through Resend including alerts and account notifications
- Send monthly market insights reports to Hunter tier subscribers
- Respond to support requests
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to anyone ever. We share data only with the following trusted service providers who help us operate BidScout:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Resend for email delivery
- OneSignal for push notifications
- Cloudinary for image storage
- eBay for auction and marketplace data
- Anthropic for AI powered valuation analysis
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
5. Auction and Marketplace Data
BidScout displays publicly available listing data from auction houses and marketplaces. We do not store third party listing data after auctions close. Your personal interaction history — items you watched, saved, or archived — is stored in your account and is yours alone.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are required by law to retain it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Export your Archives data

8. Security
We use industry standard security measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
9. Children
BidScout is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
